“With a schooled Thoroughbred who can imitate the performer’s steps with very little digital improvement”

OPI recruited a marketing company DAN Paris. Jointly, they produced something so superb, you need to see it for your self. Suzi Weiss-Fischmann, OPI Executive VP and Artistic Director, said, “Today, nail color can convey sensations and feelings, revealing on the exterior what the wearer is experiencing on the interior. In this ad, four women speak by using dance and color. With a schooled Thoroughbred who can imitate the performer’s steps with very little digital improvement, we were able to catch the distinctive, enthusiastic and imaginative tradition that epitomizes the OPI brand.”

The star of the short film is, naturally, the gorgeous horse referred to as Lady in Black. Characterized as a thoroughbred, the horse was taught by French Equestrian stunt coach Mario Luraschi. Although several of the dressage moves are indeed genuine, Lady in Black’s magnificent moves is also the result of various extremely qualified Photoshoppers, together with 3-D animation.

Based on an article on their website: “We animated, rendered and tracked 3-D legs into numerous shots featuring the horse doing a collection of challenging dance techniques. The objective was to have a smooth photorealistic appearance to both animation and render. The 3-D model was carefully paired with the real horse, this was then implemented by our skilled group of animators that collaborated to reproduce realistic motions based on the footage of the real horse.”

“Animation or not, this advertisement stretches way above a cosmetic advert. This is a straight-up work of art!”
