Video: Amazingly two twin foals survive their birth – Very Rare Occurrence

Veterinarians call it a Miracle, as two tiny foals defeat the odds. The remarkable story of Mocha and Cappuccino, a very rare occurrence in the equestrian world as surviving twins.

Soon after their birth, the two baby foals were moved into the care of the Oregon State University’s College of Veterinary Medicine.

” It is an exceptionally uncommon thing to happen and I have only seen it happen twice in my 30-year equine practice career, ” said John Schilpf, DVM and assistant professor of LAIM (Large Animal Internal Medicine) at Oregon State University. ”

Schlipf made it very clear to the college students that they are seeing a very rare miracle of nature.

According to research, foal twins don’t survive the first couple of weeks after conception and if they are carried the entire 11 to 12 months it can result in the death of one or both the foals and sometimes even the mother while giving birth.
These two foals ‘Cappuccino’ and ‘Mocha’ did suffer from a few problems after birth, but they recovered quickly and they are loving the attention they’re currently receiving, and oh boy do they have some amazing galloping skills.
